Jingle bells, shotgun shells
The TSA blog, a weekly rundown of the embattled agency’s progress fighting sky terror, has reported an amazing arsenal of weapons found on travelers this holiday travel week.
Weapons confiscated include a speargun fully equipped with spear at Houston and eleven stun guns found in carry-on bags around the nation at Atlanta, Denver, Fayetteville, Jacksonville, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Minot, New York Kennedy, Reagan Washington National, San Diego, and San Francisco.
Perhaps the oddest find was a box of shotgun shells found at Newark International Airport. The box reads: "Jingle Bells Shotgun Shells." Apparently they were decommissioned weapons remade into Christmas lights. Memo to travelers: weapon-styled Christmas ornaments are still a no-fly item.
The blog also mentions that officers around the country also found "a lot of sharp pointy things" in addition to the weapons and ammunition.
