John Barrowman visits TUI HQ ahead of summer campaign
TV’s John Barrowman made a surprise visit to TUI’s head office in Luton yesterday to meet employees and speak about his starring role in a new integrated communications campaign.
The actor, presenter, musical star and ‘I’m a Celebrity’ finalist gave team members from around the business the low down on the campaign shoot that took place two weeks ago at the TUI Sensatori Resort Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Employees not based in Luton took part in the session via live streaming.
Barrowman said: "This has been such an amazing campaign to be part of and I’ve loved getting to meet everyone today at TUI HQ.
"We had an incredible shoot in the Dominican Republic and I can’t wait for people to see the content we captured.
"I can’t give too much away about the campaign right now, but I can say it’s fun, high energy and of course fabulous! It taps into the essence of what being on holiday truly means."
TUI chief marketing officer Katie McAlister described him as ‘the perfect partner for TUI and a natural fit for this campaign’, which explores what it means to experience the hard-to-quantify feelings of excitement, anticipation and relaxation we got on holiday; in other words, ‘the holiday feeling’.
Full details of the campaign are being kept under wraps until early summer.
Barrowman also participated in a Q&A session where he revealed the I’m-a-Celeb friend he’d most like to take on a TUI cruise would be Emily Atack and his favourite biscuit is an orange Club.
