Jordan unveils support channel for tourists amid regional travel disruptions
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has introduced a new mechanism aimed at facilitating communication with tourists impacted by exceptional travel circumstances, such as flight delays or cancellations due to ongoing regional developments. The initiative is part of the kingdom’s efforts to ensure the safety and comfort of its visitors.
In a statement issued last week, the ministry said the system allows visitors to directly contact the ministry to communicate their needs. It includes rescheduling or cancelling travel plans, requesting logistical support, or reporting emergencies during their stay in Jordan.
The ministry emphasized that Jordan continues to enjoy a high level of safety and stability. All tourist sites across the country operate as normal. The new mechanism underscores Jordan’s commitment to supporting its guests and ensuring their well-being.
Tourists affected by current developments and seeking assistance are encouraged to contact the ministry via the following link: https://forms.gle/79wmN8G5f9qVGUis6.
The ministry confirmed that its teams are ready to offer around-the-clock support and coordination. The ministry also collaborates closely with travel entities such as the Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents and national carrier Royal Jordanian.
Some travellers affected by regional airspace closures have already received temporary assistance. It included access to key tourist sites and help arranging alternative transport or accommodation.
Jordan tourism growth in 1Q 2025
The situation in the Middle East is likely to affect Jordan’s tourism performance in 2025. Meanwhile, despite the lingering impact of the Gaza conflict, the start of 2025 has been very promising.
The total number of visitors for the first quarter of 2025 reached 1.507 million, up by 13% compared to the same period for 2024. Receipts for this period reached 1.72 billion USD, up by 8.85% over the same period of 2024. In 2024, Jordan welcomed 6.11 million visitors, a slight drop of 3.9% compared to 2023.
