July 4th weekend in Daytona Beach
The upcoming Independence Day holiday weekend is always a reason for celebration across the nation and few places have a better backdrop for marking America’s birthday than the beach.
This Fourth of July weekend in Daytona Beach has a huge lineup of holiday events giving visitors plenty of ways to let the red, white and blue spirit shine:
Daytona Tortugas baseball: Taking in America’s pastime is a great way to celebrate, and Jackie Robinson Ballpark is a great venue to experience it. The St. Lucie Mets and the Daytona Tortugas will begin a three-game series at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on July 4 at 6:35 pm. Holiday revelers can take in a great ballgame, buy some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, and enjoy a cold beverage or two. And to mark the occasion in an all-American way, fireworks will light up the skies over the ballpark after the final out. The Tortugas will also wear special patriotic-themed uniforms to mark the holiday.

The parade pays tribute to veterans and first responders and features nearly 40 local military organizations, as well as combat veterans, and the city’s police and fire departments. The parade begins on Main Street at Atlantic Avenue and travels west to the base of the Main Street Bridge. The public can view the parade from the sidewalks along Main Street.
