Karma Group snaps up Indian resort
Resort operator Karma Group has announced it is acquiring a new property in India’s Kangra Valley in the Himalayas.
Featuring 25 rooms and suites, it is situated in Dharamshala, which is the adopted home of the Dalai Lama.
It features a fitness centre, pool and restaurant and will undergo refurbishment and future plans will see the addition of a signature Karma Spa.
"I am delighted to announce the acquisition of our newest resort in the beautiful and spiritual town of Dharamshala. We will be renovating and refurbishing the property to bring it up to our high standards and expect to have it open for the main Indian holiday season," said Karma Group founder and chairman John Spence.
"To be in the adopted home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is wonderful and particularly fitting as Karma Group has drawn much inspiration from his philosophies."
Dharamshala is a popular trekking destination into the upper Ravi Valley and Chambra district.
Karma Group operates resorts in Europe and across Asia Pacific including Australia, India and Indonesia.
