Kayak expands in Asia with Hong Kong office

Tuesday, 16 Sep, 2016 0
US based travel metasearch site Kayak is strengthening its presence in Asia with a new office in Hong Kong.

Kayak is also boosting its workforce in the region, said president Keith Melnick.

"We’ve grown 200 to 300 per cent a year in Asia-Pacific with little investment. It’s a big market, but we don’t have a significant presence yet, but the market is ripe for what we offer," he said.

The growing outbound market from China presents a ‘huge market with huge opportunity.’

Online travel sales in Asia are predicted to go up by more than 20% in 2017, surpassing the US as the world’s biggest market.

"The Asia market is huge. Next year it is on path to be the biggest online travel market in the world," Melnick added.
