KDS woos the ‘internet savvy’
Corporate solutions provider KDS is looking to secure direct links to suppliers as business travellers increasingly book their travel online. KDS, which provides companies with online travel and expense management solutions, has signed a deal with Hertz to allow its customers access to the Hertz reservations system. “The business travel world has undergone rapid change over the past few years and with it has come a new type of traveller who wants to take more control over their own travel booking, one who is internet savvy and who is looking for the best interactivity in the marketplace,” said executive vice president, marketing and sales for Hertz, Brian Kennedy. The deal is the first of its kind KDS has signed with a car rental supplier, and the company says it is looking to develop more direct links with travel suppliers. Later this year KDS will offer an XML feed option into the Hertz system developed according to Open Travel Alliance specifications. Report by Ginny McGrath
