Kempinski to manage Hotel of Doom
The world’s tallest hotel will open next year in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang and will be operated by Kempinski Hotels and Resorts.
The 105-story, pyramid-shaped Ryugyong Hotel will open partially in July or August, Bloomberg reports.
Kempinski will be the first western hospitality service to operate in North Korea.
Construction of the 3000-room hotel – often referred to as the Hotel of Doom – began in 1987 and stopped between 1992 and 2008.
It appears regularly on lists of the world’s most ugly buildings.
