Khiri Travel Myanmar undergoes restructuring
Khiri Travel’s Myanmar business is to undergo a restructuring.
It comes as Myanmar joint venture partner, Edwin Briels, announced he is exiting the partnership after nine years.
The change gives Khiri Travel Myanmar the opportunity to restructure and make internal adjustments while Khiri Travel Myanmar continues to offer a full array of B2B travel services to clients as before.
According to Khiri Travel CEO Herman Hoven, all bookings tour operators and clients have made with Khiri will be honoured, and those that need to be postponed due to Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions will be without any cost penalty.
"Khiri Travel Myanmar is very much open, ready and looking forward to once again delivering signature Myanmar experiences to travellers when international travel returns," said Hoven.
"We wish Edwin all the best. We will continue to work in cooperation with him on occasional projects. We thank him for a terrific nine years and wish him every success in his new ventures," Hoven added.
Established in 2011, Khiri Travel Myanmar has enjoyed success as a joint venture between Briels, Aung Min Thein and Khiri Travel Ltd.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Khiri Travel Myanmar employed more than 30 staff and handled more than 3,000 visitors in 2019.
