Korea Tourism Welcomes New Sydney Director
Mr. Deoksoo Ahn has taken up his new role as Director for Australia/New Zealand of Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) from 3 September. 2007.
Mr Ahn has almost 19 years of experience working for Korea Tourism Organization in various KTO Head Office departments as well as a term at the New York KTO office.
He arrives in Sydney at a time when Australian tourism numbers to Korea are at record levels during 2007. Statistics from Australia to Korea from January to July, 2007 show an increase of 20.7% increase over the same period last year with the New Zealand market also showing an increase of almost 25% for the same period.
In his new role, Mr. Ahn aims to further develop the strengthening tourism market to Korea from this region.
Mr Ahn said on his arrival at the Sydney office “It’s an exciting time for tourism to Korea with the recent launch of our new brand image ‘Korea, Sparkling’ greatly enhancing Korea’s tourism potential.”
“I look forward very much to working with the Australian and New Zealand media and tourism industry personnel over the next three years.”.
