Korean Air-Asiana airline merger gets China approval
China’s antitrust regulator gave the green light for the Korean Air- Asiana airline merger.
Korean Air said it has made concessions on the routes it operates between Korea and China to gain approval,
It currently has four routes.
In 2020 Korean Air agreed a $1.5 billion deal to buy a majority stake in Asiana.
It expects to complete the airline merger process by 2023.
Korean Air still awaits decisions from regulators in the US, the EU, UK and Japan.
Ten other countries have approved the merger.
