Korean Air passenger plane overshoots runway
A Korean Air 737 passenger jet carrying 106 passengers overshot the runway on landing at an airport in Japan, ending up on its nose in the grass.
The incident came just a few weeks after another South Korean airline, Asiana, crash-landed at San Francisco airport, killing three people and injuring dozens more passengers.
Yesterday’s Korean Air flight 763 from Incheon in South Korea overshot the runway at Niigata airport in northwest Japan and came to a stop on a grass verge, said the Guardian.
No injuries were reported and Japan’s National Transport Safety Bureau launched an investigation at the airport, which led to the cancellation of at least 19 flights into Niigata.
