Korean flies into Melbourne
A Travelpress News report says that Korean Air will begin flights to Melbourne on October 22.
The Melbourne-Seoul flights will operate three times weekly and come after the airline tested the market with charter flights on the route last summer.
Melbourne Airport CEO Chris Woodruff said the Korean Air announcement was a major win for Victoria adding that Koreans account for more than a quarter of a million incoming visitors to Australia, however Victoria only receives a small percentage of these visitors.
These new direct links between Melbourne Airport and Seoul are set to change this, he said.
Mr Woodruff said Korean Air had only just been allocated additional rights by the Federal Government to fly to Melbourne Airport, and had taken up those rights within days.
