Korean ups Kosmo count

Korean Airlines has increased the number of routes on which it will offer its first class lie-flat Kosmo Suites.

Kosmo Suites have 67cm wide seats and offer AVOD entertainment systems with 58cm screens with more than 60 films, 300 CDs, 40 games and 15 audio books. Created by leading UK designers Acumen, the seats have a wood-feel surround with the focus on bringing a natural feel to the plane’s décor.

Korean formerly offered the suites on three routes but has extended this to nine. These include long-haul business routes to the US such as Incheon to Los Angeles, Incheon to Washington DC and Incheon to Seattle. Mid-haul routes in China and Southeast Asia such as Incheon to Beijing, Incheon to Shanghai and Incheon to Hong Kong also get the swankier seats. Flights on the Incheon to Jakarta route, that will operate daily from the end of October, will also offer the suites.

The move follows the delivery of three B777-300ERs and refurbishment of the airline’s B777-200ER aircrafts. Four more B777-200ERs are scheduled to enter into service by next March.
