Kuoni Global Travel Services is sold
The JTB Group has bought Kuoni Global Travel Services for an undisclosed sum.
The sale includes Kuoni’s Group Travel Experts as well as its European and North American MICE businesses.
JTB, which is a global destination management company with a network of 516 offices in 36 countries, will manage the business under its European managing company, TPE.
JTB’s president & CEO Hiroyuki Takahashi said the acquisition was part of a plan to strengthen the inbound business from Asia to Europe.
It said Kuoni Global Travel Services will continue to operate as an independent company, working with other companies as well as JTB.
Kuoni Group Travel Experts will remain as a business-to-business organisation, providing tailormade packages for leisure and incentive groups and tour operators. It will retain the New York office that it shares with Kuoni’s MICE operation.
