Kuoni introduces dynamic pricing calendar to website
Kuoni is due to introduce a dynamic pricing calendar to its website this week, allowing customers to see what savings they could make if they booked a holiday on a different date.
The technology allows Kuoni to display a month of prices on one page and highlight the best dates to book in that time period.
Similar technology is now commonly used by airlines.
“As far as we know, that is a unique experience for an online operator,” said Kuoni UK managing director Nick Hughes.
He said the operator was now taking around 15% of its booking through its website, mainly for simple itineraries.
“With this extra innovation we aim to ramp that up,” he said.
“In the last month, the average value of an online booking was £3,400,” he said. “But I know the team has taken online bookings worth as much as £30,000 to £40,000.”
