Last few days for BTA registration
Travel companies have only until this Saturday to register for the chance to win a coveted 2014 British Travel Award.
Registrations have been building daily for the 77 awards, which are voted for by UK consumers.
"With 90% of the overall votes cast in 2013 going to listed companies, in order to be in with a chance to win a BTA companies should apply for listing – someone has to take responsibility for that small task™ said BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton.
"Some award categories are over subscribed but there are a few others that are still waiting for registrations and of course the fewer companies in each category the more chance of winning.
"Several of the hotel categories need more registrations, if you want to go for ‘Best Miniple Travel Agency’ there’s an opportunity and if you’re in the ski business the odds are good."
She added: "It’s not always the biggest companies that succeed – sometimes it’s the company who hasn’t been complacent but has actioned a great lobbying campaign for votes directed at their happy clients that takes the award."
Companies can check out registrations and weigh up their chances against the competition by taking a look at the 2014 Contenders List.
Voting starts in July and and the awards will be presented on 26 November at Battersea Evolution.
