Latedeals puts holidays under the hammer
Latedeals.com has started auctioning its late availability holidays.
A spokesperson told TravelMole that two tickets to the Algarve including flights and two-star accommodation was sold this week for £1. Bookings are subject to £17 booking fee per person.
The online agent auctions a number of holidays on its homepage, which depart a few weeks ahead to short and long haul destinations. Bids are accepted over a specified time period, usually one-week, after which, the holiday goes to the highest bidder.
Consumers can bid for holidays once they have registered their details and credit card information. The auction has been live for the past few weeks.
Latedeals managing director, David Hawke said: “There’s a general lifestyle trend at the moment for people to book their holidays later. The latedeals.com site is well-placed to cater for this demand and help customers get some of the best deals around”.
