Latest concierge category: Retail Therapist
In the latest move to come up with creative new services, the EPIC Hotel in Miami is adding a “Retail Therapist,” which is nothing new for Kimpton Hotels.
“Shopping has become a big part of a travel experience,” said Joe Schwingler, general manager, EPIC. “People want to feel a connection with the city they’re traveling to and certainly, walking and exploring around from store to store gives visitors that feeling.”
Kimpton’s “Retail Therapists” are employees of the hotels and longtime residents of the city with self-proclaimed credentials in savvy shopping. Advice is complimentary and available to all who inquire either by email in advance of a stay, or in person at the hotel, according to a news release.
Kimpton already has such specialists in place at hotels in Chicago, Miami and New York City, among others.
