Lawsuit challenging mask mandate now numbers 21 states
There are now 21 states which have joined a lawsuit challenging the mask mandate in airports and on planes, as well as trains, and buses.
Florida’s Attorney General Ashley Moody joined other AGs across the country.
The suit claims the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has overstepped its legal authority over the mask mandate.
“It has caused so much confusion, so much chaos, and so much pressure on the employees,” Moody said, referring to the sheer number of in-flight incidents caused by people’s refusal to wear face coverings.
The mask directive is set to expire on April 18 and there are increasing signs it may not get extended again.
The other states in the lawsuit include Alabama, Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and West Virginia.
Airline bosses and flight attendants have also called for an end to the mask mandate.
