Leading Cruise Agents doubles membership
Worldchoice Cruise Club members have joined The Leading Cruise Agents of the UK.
This and the addition of eight new independent agents has doubled the group’s membership to 94.
Forty five agencies belonging to the Worldchoice Cruise Club have committed to a two-year membership. The eight new independent agent members include Global Cruising, Global Professionals, White Star Cruises and five new Go Cruise agents.
The additions come as the LCA simplifies its membership subscriptions to open it up to more cruise specialists.
From last month, there is a single membership fee of £250, regardless of turnover.
Previously there was a two tier scheme for small and large agencies.
The association has also introduced a new fee structure for agencies with multiple shops, charging one set membership fee of £250 and then a smaller charge of £45 for each additional location.
Associate membership has also grown with the addition of Orion Expedition Cruises, Azamara Cruises, Star Clippers and Amadeus Waterways.
LCA chairman Clare Dudley said: “Worldchoice currently make seven per cent of UK cruise bookings and the commitment of its Cruise Club members to an initial two year membership is a major development for the LCA.
“Our increasing membership and associate membership offers greater opportunities for cruise lines to work more closely with specialist independent agents.
“It is clear that our membership drive is working, and we strive to drive a bigger audience into our members’ shops and generate additional sales for our associates.â€
Worldchoice head of sales and marketing Helen Talbot said: “Joining the LCA to work with a likeminded group of specialist agents seemed a logical step for our Cruise Club.
“Being a member of the LCA allows us to have access to exclusive offers and enhanced commercial opportunities, share knowledge with other experts in the industry and work more closely with cruise lines who appreciate our specialist knowledge and experience.”
