Leading edge destination ‘Edens’ of adventure
Austin-Lehman has identified seven new destinations for 2007 that they say are on the leading edge of adventure travel. They are:
—Chiapas Mexico, where highlights include highland villages, indigenous artisans and jungle pyramids.
—The Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, which is the world’s fastest growing wine region.
—Crater Lake/Rogue River region of Oregon: featuring extinct volcanoes, a wild river and Shakespeare.
—Southeast Arizona – Tucson to Tombstone: missions, vineyards, caverns and gunfighters.
—Whistler Sky Camp – A remote but luxurious eco-camp accessed by private float plane.
—Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast – Biking, snorkeling, whale watching, zip lines and rafting.
—Havasu Falls Base Camp – A desert Eden of canyons, waterfalls and amazing overlooks.
