Link confirmed between two terrorist attacks on tourists in Tunisia
Counter terrorism police say there are ‘strong’ links between the Tunisia beach massacre, which left 30 British tourists dead, and the Bardo Museum attack in the country’s capital three months earlier.
In total, 38 tourists were killed in the resort of Sousse by a lone gunman in June and 22 people were gunned down at the Bardo Museum in March.
Commander Richard Walton of the Metropolitan Police, which has sent officers to help with the Tunisian investigation into the beach shootings, said there was strong evidence of a connection between the two attacks.
Tunisian authorities have arrested 150 people over the attack in Sousse, 15 of whom have been charged with terrorism offences.
No further evidence of the link found between the two attacks has been revealed by police at this stage.
