Live ammo found on Air India flight
A police investigation was opened at Delhi International Airport after an airport worker discovered a live ammunition round on an Air India plane.
The ammo was found as the plane was being cleaned after passengers has exited.
The flight had arrived from Dubai.
It comes as security has been ramped up at India airports.
Indian airlines have been inundated with hoax bomb threats since last month, causing major flight disruptions on a daily basis.
The ammunition cartridge was found in a seat pocket by an aircraft cleaner.
“One ammunition cartridge was found in the pocket of a seat after it landed, and all passengers had safely disembarked,”an airline spokesperson said.
