MELBOURNE – Lonely Planet has joined forces with two of the world’s leading accommodation providers, Expedia and Hostelworld.com, to deliver a unique accommodation booking service.

The new service provides travellers with tens of thousands of author reviews and recommendations written by Lonely Planet’s 360 authors around the world.

From backpacker hostels in Adelaide to boutique designer hotels in Zurich, travellers can evaluate properties and book securely online with Expedia and Hostelworld.com.

“Combining the vast number of Lonely Planet’s author accommodation reviews with the depth of inventory provided by Expedia and Hostelworld is a real win for our travellers.

“They get trusted advice, great pricing and wide availability in one easy to use website” said Troy Suda, Lonely Planet’s global head of hotels.

For the new service, Lonely Planet looked globally for partners where there was strong alignment between Lonely Planet’s author reviews and the bookable properties of prospective partners.

Feargal Mooney, CEO of Hostelworld.com said, “As the leading provider of online reservations to the budget accommodation sector our hostel coverage is the biggest in the world.”
