Lonely Planet targets ‘urban adventurers’ with new guides
‘Urban adventurers’ on city breaks are being targeted by a new series of guidebooks to be published by Lonely Planet.
The Encounters city guidebooks are researched and written by local people to give an inside tack on each destination.
The launch titles to be released in June cover Barcelona, Dublin, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Las Vegas, London, New York, Paris and San Francisco.
The London guide features tips from a leading ‘mixologist’ on the cocktails London does best, the San Francisco guide includes tips from Craigslist founder Craig Newmark, the Dublin guide includes advice from local fashion designer Leigh Tucker and the Las Vegas guide has tips from a dealer at the MGM Grand.
Each book includes a colour pull-out city map. A city diary lists the best events and festivals and listings arranged by neighbourhood.
