Long serving Visit USA Association board member retires
Visit USA Association (UK) this week celebrated the service of one of its longest serving Board Directors, Ruby Briggs.
Ruby Briggs, Managing Director of UK tour operator North America Travel Service will depart the board at the end of 2024 as part of her retirement plans.
Ruby has served on the board since 2007 and helped the organisation navigate and recover from the global pandemic.
Over this time the organisation has grown in strength and membership numbers.
Julie Greenhill, Chair at Visit USA (UK) said “Today is bittersweet, as we wish Ruby much happiness and many exciting adventures in her next chapter. We will all miss Ruby’s unwavering support, sound advice, wise words and passion.”
Ruby joined North America Travel Service in 1976 and became Branch Manager of the first North America Travel Service shop, based in Leeds in 1979.
By 2006 Ruby had become both a shareholder and Managing Director of NATS.
Ruby names Arizona as her favourite US state; and her ‘happy place’ is the Grand Canyon.
She has fulfilled an ambition to white-water raft the entire Colorado River – no less than 1,450 miles across seven states.
Visit USA (UK) is a membership organisation that brings together experts from US states and destinations, travel, accommodation, entertainment and other US-travel related products and services.
