LOT Polish Airlines has been recognised as the best traditional airline in the www.pasazer.com poll.

In the 3rd edition of the poll conducted by the www.pazazer.com website, LOT Polish Airlines has received the award for the Best Traditional Airline and LOT also finished third in the Best Business Offer category.

The awards gala was held this week at Katowice International Airport in Pyrzowice and it was the third time that visitors to www.pasazer.com, one of the world’s largest travel and tourist websites granted awards and distinctions to airlines.

Internet users could vote in three categories: Best Traditional Airline, Best Low-Cost Airline, and Best Business Offer and the voting started on 1st December 2006, ending on 28th February 2007, with 4052 valid votes cast and participants of the poll could vote only once.

The winner in the Best Traditional Airline was LOT Polish Airlines (33% votes) with Lufthansa (21%) and British Airways (20%) finishing in the second and third place respectively.

In the Best Business Airline, LOT was ranked in the third place (12%) behind British Airways (14%) and Lufthansa (28%).

“The results of the poll reflect the feelings of airline customers and the situation in the airline industry itself,” said Paweł Cybulak, editor-in-chief of the www.pasazer.com website.

“These awards make us extremely happy as the participants of the poll were airline passengers.  The fact that we are regarded as the best traditional airline is a great honour to us.  It means that our efforts to ensure the highest quality of service possible are not in vain” – commented Leszek Chorzewski, a spokesman for LOT Polish Airlines.
