Lufhansa strike hits thousands of passengers

Lufthansa has cancelled morre than one hundred flights to and from Munich due to a planned strike by its pilots based at the German airport from 10:00hrs today.

The strike will last until 18:00hrs today but the airline has also cancelled several flights early tomorrow morning.

Included among the cancellations are two London flights. Further details are available here. Passengers are able to swap their flights for tickets on the Deutsche Bahn rail service. 

Lufthansa said all flights from its Frankfurt hub will ‘presumably’ operate as normal.

It said flights operated by Lufthansa Group airlines Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Germanwings and Swiss, as well as flights by Air Dolomiti, will operate as scheduled.
