Luxury tree houses going for $2,000 a night

Saturday, 10 Oct, 2006 0

A “tree house” might qualify as luxury travel when it costs almost $2,000 a night. Case-in-point:

Winivan, a 113-acre resort hotel in the Connecticut countryside.

Treehouse and Beaver Lodge are two of 18 luxury cottages at Winivan, which is due to open this fall.

“Sprawling over a Litchfield County landscape of open pasture and orchard, stone paths, stone walls, and Koi-filled ponds, Winivan offers architectural spectacles that few are likely to behold, given the price,” wrote Hotel Online.

Low-end cottages go for $1,450 a night.

But prices include more than a room. The cost includes meals, drinks and most services. There’s also unlimited access to a 130-variety wine collar and an art gallery.
