Maison Sport founder publishes book for young skiers
Nick Robinson, founder and CEO of Maison Sport, the online platform for booking ski instructors in France, Italy and Switzerland, has written a book for children to help prepare them for their first skiing holiday.
The picture book is aimed at children aged four to eight and tells the story of Jacob, who is about to embark on his first ski trip.
Nick, who is a father, says he "has been careful to balance the fun and excitement of a ski holiday with reassurance and explanation of what Jacob will experience on his trip".
The book also contains some handy tips that will help readers in their first lessons.
As the mother of a stroppy four-year-old daughter who refused to put on ski gloves because they weren’t pink, I hope the book also manages children’s expectations about the limited range of colour choices in skis and boots!
Nick’s venture into creative writing follows a desire to share his passion for skiing with his daughter and his frustration that he couldn’t find a children’s book to read to her to help her catch the ‘skiing bug’.
"The memory of my first skiing holiday with my family has remained with me for many years – I can still remember my excitement the first time I saw the mountains and the snow and how happy I was whizzing through the trees down the slopes. As a ski instructor, it was really important to me that my daughter had the chance to experience this same feeling and Jacob’s adventures did a fantastic job of preparing her for her first season on the slopes. I’m thrilled that Jacob will now be able to help the next generation of skiers prepare for their first snow holiday."
Jacob’s First Ski Holiday is available to buy on Amazon.co.uk for £8.99.
