Majesty of the Seas staying in Royal Caribbean fleet
Royal Caribbean has had a change of heart and will now keep its oldest ship Majesty of the Seas in its fleet.
Royal Caribbean last year said it would transfer the ship to Pullmantur in 2016 but has now reversed that decision due to ‘popular demand.’
The 2,700-passenger ship will still undergo a dry dock refit in the Bahamas "for upgrades and receive transformational new onboard amenities" Royal Caribbean said.
This includes high speed ‘Voom’ Internet access which will be free and unlimited for guests on Majesty of the Seas.
Other enhancements include new restaurants, ‘The Dreamworks Experience,’ water slides and a poolside movie screen.
After leaving dry dock, the vessel will homeport in Port Canaveral from summer 2016, sailing three- and four-night Bahamas cruises starting May 27, 2016.
