Major operational changes for Cebu Pacific at NAIA
Budget airline Cebu Pacific has announced major changes to flight operations in Manila following the airport authority’s directive to cut congestion at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Cebu Pacific’s turboprop flights will move to terminal 4 at NAIA, while its recently renamed Cebgo brand will take off from terminal 3 from August 15.
These include busy holiday flights to Cebu, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa and Roxas.
Cebu Pacific fully supports this government effort to improve air traffic conditions in Manila," the airline said in a statement released Friday.
Some of Cebu Pacific’s flights operated by ATR aircraft will also move to Terminal 4.
The airline says all flight times will remain unchanged.
Cebu Pacific president Lance Gokongwei said the two airlines are on track to fly about 18 million passengers this year, up from 16.9 million passengers in 2014.
Last week the carrier said it would buy 16 ATR72-600 planes, with an option for another 10 worth about $673 million.
