Malaysia Airlines launches MHHolidays travel package platform
After a successful soft launch period, Malaysia Airlines has rolled out the MHHolidays travel booking platform.
The airline is targeting a 10% boost to its ancillary revenues from the platform by the end of this year.
MHHolidays is a partnership with TUI Group offering flight and accommodation holiday packages to Malaysia Airlines destinations.
Malaysia Airlines chief operations officer Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi expects it to help boost ancillary revenue by about 5% compared to 2018.
Ahmad Luqman said the platform has received about 2,000 bookings since its soft launch in June.
"We hope in the future, we can get at least 1,000 bookings per day," he added.
To begin, promotional efforts will be focused on domestic customers, and then expanded globally.
MHHolidays will also expand its products beyond just flights and accommodations in the future.
TUI Group executive board member Frank Rosenberger said Southeast Asia is a key market.
"Not only will Malaysian travellers will be able to benefit from our wide network of holiday destinations, Malaysia Airlines will be able to reach new customer segments and generate additional revenue," Rosenberger said.
