Malaysia resorts top family friendly holiday list
Two Malaysian resorts have been voted in the top 10 family-friendly hotels in South East Asia that cater specifically for children.
Agoda.com, Asia’s top online travel agent, list the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort in Sabah and Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa at Langkawi as two of the best family-focused resorts.
Agoda’s statistics show a consistent growth in the request for “family-style” accommodation in South East Asia since 2004; with the number of bookings quadrupling over the past 3 years.
Director of Tourism Malaysia Sydney, Mr. Shahrin Mokhtar, says he is not surprised by the results – given the endless facilities and offerings of these two resorts for families.
“Malaysia has long been recognized as a perfect family holiday destination, offering such vast diversity that a family can easily find the perfect resort to suit their needs without compromising on quality, high standards and family care”, says Shahrin.
“Offering possibly the largest ‘Kids Club’ facility in South East Asia is the Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Resort.” “Located on the striking island of Borneo, with a view over the South China Sea, the resort offers children and adults alike the chance to experience orang-utans close up by visiting the sister resort of Shangri-la Rasa Ria.”
“The ‘Kids Club’ itself is divided into age group areas, with soft padding and toys for toddlers. A playground and child-safe pools add to the family friendly mix, along with beach activities organised for the older children.”
“For the more active family, the stunningly located resort in luxurious Langkawi is a dream come true.” “The Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa has an abundance of water sports such as boating, water-skiing, diving, snorkelling and para-sailing.” “While parents indulge themselves doing as little or as much as they want, the kids are taken care of with such divisions as the resorts own mini golf course and animal farm.”
“Malaysia has the perfect combination of stunning scenery, perfect weather and an exotic culture.” “Added to this sublime mixture is the fact that Malaysia offers 5 star luxury accommodation and easily accessible child minding facilities at a fraction of the cost of holiday prices in Australia.”
