Maldives to offer vaccinations to tourists
The Maldives is hoping to lure more tourists with a new ‘3V’ strategy -‘visit, vaccinate and vacation.’ The tourism-dependent archipelago will offer vaccinations to travellers booking a stay in the country.
It has prioritised hospitality workers for vaccinations and says there will be no vaccination supply issues, although it hasn’t said when the tourist vaccination scheme will begin. It will begin when every Maldives resident has received their Covid jabs, said Tourism Minister Abdulla Mausoom.
Nearly 70% of the country’s GDP is tied to tourism spending.
