Man dies after falling from Glasgow hotel

A man who fell from the third floor of the Glasgow Central Hotel has died.

According to reports, the 47-year-old fell 50 feet from the hotel’s third floor moments after police arrived to speak to him at about 11.30am on Friday.

It’s believed he had been reported as a missing person and officers were carrying out inquiries to trace him.

When they entered the man’s bedroom, he was naked and initially indicated he wanted to get dressed. However, he then dashed for the bedroom window, according to GlasgowLive.

One officer cut his hands in his attempts to save the man, who wriggled free and plunged to his death.

He was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

The hotel is next to Glasgow rail station.

The police described the incident as an ‘horrific and tragic accident’.
