Mandarin Oriental luxury Maldives resort planned

A new luxury Maldives resort is under development and scheduled to open in 2025.

Dubai based DAMAC Group signed an agreement to operate a Mandarin Oriental branded resort on a group of private islands.

The 34-hectare luxury resort is DAMAC Group’s first foray in the tourist islands.

The resort stretches across three private islands on Bolidhuffaru Reef in South Male Atoll.

The Mandarin Oriental Bolidhuffaru Reef’ will comprises 130 stand-alone villas, including 61 overwater villas.

The luxury Maldives resort will have seven dining outlets, including three speciality restaurants.

There will be wellness facilities located in the resort’s tropical gardens that include 12 treatment suites, vitality pools, sauna and steam rooms.

Additional leisure activities planned include a water sports and a dive centre and tennis court

“We look forward to working with Mandarin Oriental to manage our resort,” Hussain Sajwani, Chairman and founder of the DAMAC Group said.
