Mandarin Oriental returning to Hawaii

Hong Kong based luxury hospitality operator Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is returning to the Hawaii market with a new hotel and residences.
 
It has teamed up with LA-based Salem Partners for construction of Mandarin Oriental, Honolulu, sited in a mixed use development near the Hawaii Convention Center.
 
Slated to open in 2020, it will have 125 hotel rooms and 107 luxury residences located in a mixed use tower.
 
A rooftop restaurant and bar is planned along with a sky lobby lounge, pool, meeting spaces, a spa and dining.
 
Mandarin Oriental previously managed the Kahala Hotel & Resort a decade ago.
 
Salem Partners plans to begin work this year and says up to 900 jobs will be created and more than 600 permanent posts once it becomes operational in 2020.
