Mantra Treetops Resort & Spa has earned its place amongst the tall timber of the hospitality industry, with a top ranking in the World’s Best Awards 2007, conducted by the respected Travel & Leisure Magazine.

The Port Douglas property entered the rankings for the first time this year, coming in at number 13 in the magazine’s Top 25 Hotels in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific category.

Mantra’s Regional General Manager for Tropical North Queensland, Michael Coe, was delighted the resort featured so highly in the Top 25, attributing the result to an outstanding team effort.

“Being recognised in this manner vindicates our focus and effort in attempting at all times to achieve the highest standard of service and provide the best possible experience for our guests. It lets us know that we are succeeding,’’ he said.

Michael attributed the combination of an iconic property and an iconic destination to the resort’s success.

“Both Mantra Treetops and magnificent Port Douglas offer one of the best tropical experiences in one of the best tropical destinations Australia has to offer.

“The property is living proof of Mantra’s philosophy of tranquil indulgence with a balanced focus on food, spas and service in view to deliver the best possible experience in some of the greatest locations in Australia.

“A balance of a tranquil, tropical experience with non obtrusive but personal level of service are the lasting impressions we hope our guests take with them,’’ he said.

The World’s Best Awards 2007 were judged by Travel and Leisure’s international subscribers.

In reaching the top 25 in the hotels category for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Mantra Treetops Resort & Spa impressed voters across criteria including rooms/ facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.

It was the highest placed Queensland property on the list, headed only by destinations including Taupo NZ, Sydney, French Polynesia, Melbourne, the Blue Mountains and Queenstown NZ.
