Marketing campaign boosts Oz tourists
A NZTV report says that the NZ government claims a marketing campaign can be credited for an increase in the number of Australian tourists to New Zealand.
Official figures for Autumn show numbers were up by just over 6% at what is normally regarded as a quiet time of the year.
Tourism Minister Damien O’Connor puts the rise down to Tourism New Zealand’s “What’s On” campaign and has kept business flowing through the economy for much longer.
In the year to April 2007 more than 910,000 Australians visited New Zealand.
