Travel firms nominated for the 2014 British Travel Awards need to start lobbying customers now as voting opens.

Nominated companies have until September 30 to lobby past customers for votes to win a title at the awards on November 26.

The 72 award categories span all types of holiday experience – transport, accommodation, destinations, cruise, holiday extras and customer service awards across the various industry sectors.

BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: "’We provide marketing tools to help with campaigns, including a ‘vote for us’ button to be displayed on websites and emails making it easy for customers to click through to the BTA website and cast their vote."

Consumers are also being encouraged to vote with a free prize draw to win amazing holiday prizes and travel companies who have provided prizes are already receiving exposure through editorial in the Mirror Group’s national titles.

Prizes currently include a fantastic two week USA holiday in California and the Golden West courtesy of Titan Travel; a seven night Ionian & Aegean island Holiday in a beautiful villa with private pool on the Greek island of Kefalonia and an eight day Danube river cruise with Viking River Cruises.
