Marriott catering to smaller groups
Marriott International is redesigning some of its lobbies to attract small meetings.
They are calling it a “great-room” concept similar to large rooms with a multitude of purposes found in private homes.
“With our great-room concept, guests can tailor the use of these spaces to their own needs,” said Mike Jannini, executive vice president of brand management.
The new lobbies will be introduced this year. They will include a welcome zone for check in and concierge services, a quiet place for individuals to read and a lounge with small tables for impromptu meetings. There will also be a business zone that will have a boardroom and other amenities.
