Marriott launches initiative for extended-stay guests in London
Marriott International has launched an initiative designed to help its extended-stay guests get to know the location they are staying in.
Starting in London, its Residence Inn by Marriott brand has introduced the ‘Take Residence: UK’ campaign, with a curated programme of free events led by influential residents.
At the recently-opened Residence Inn London – London Bridge and Residence Inn London – Kensington, set to launch in early 2018, the programme ranges from food and fitness to art and culture.
It is aimed at extended-stay guests, who stay for two weeks or more on average when they travel.
In January, guests at the London Bridge hotel will be invited to go jogging with Charlie Dark, the founder of cult running collective Run Dem Crew.
Aimed at runners of all abilities, Dark will take guests on a running tour of the London Bridge area taking in the local landmarks on a scenic, Thames-side route.
Afterwards guests will be treated to an acoustic music performance by Harry Jay-Steele and drinks at the hotel.
The campaign continues in 2018 at both hotels, with an additional line up of London residents including food writer Victoria Stewart, holistic nutritionist, life coach and yoga teacher Pandora Paloma; fitness guru and TV presenter AJ Odudu, and creative walking collective The Midnight Run.
Following each of these tours, which accommodate from 11-30 guests, the influencers’ top tips to London will be accessible via a dedicated Take Residence: UK page within the Residence Inn website.
