Marriott launches Travel Experience Incubator program for new startups
Marriott International has joined forces with Accenture Interactive and incubator and startup network, 1776, to launch a new program aimed at discovering the next generation of travel industry innovators.
The companies launched the Travel Experience Incubator, which offers a three-month program with opportunities for paid piloting and investment.
It begins in September 2017 at 1776’s Arlington, Virginia campus and interested startups are invited to apply for a place.
Selected participants get a dedicated curriculum which is devised by Marriott’s hospitality expertise, along with Accenture experts and the 1776 global mentor network.
The program aims to develop and test innovative travel focused solutions using data and technology with the ultimate goal of enhancing customer guest engagement and the travel experience.
Applications are sought for ‘promising, unique, and scalable solutions’ covering four broad categories – Dream and Discovery, Plan and Anticipate, The Hotel and Local Experiences, and Customer Engagement and Advocacy.
"We see The Travel Experience Incubator as a terrific opportunity to fuel promising startups focused on game-changing innovation for the lodging industry. We look forward to collaborating with these independent visionaries to reveal new business opportunities and enhanced guest experiences," said Stephanie Linnartz, global chief commercial officer, Marriott International.
More information about the program can be found on 1776’s website.
