Marriott tweaks Asia leadership team
Marriott International has strengthened its Asia Pacific leadership team with a raft of new appointments.
Additions to the Asia Pacific (excluding China) leadership team have been made to better meet localised needs, the company says.
A 23-year veteran of the company, Christina Chan has been appointed CFO, Asia Pacific (excluding China).
In her new elevated role, she will oversee finance operations, asset management, compliance and owner relations.
Andrew Newmark was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer.
With over 30 years at Marriott, he will lead the company’s Human Resources function across the region.
John Toomey has been appointed Chief Sales and Marketing Officer and oversees the consumer strategy.
This includes brand management, marketing, sales, distribution, revenue management, loyalty, customer experience, digital and communications.
With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Oriol Montal was appointed Managing Director, Luxury, Asia Pacific (excluding China),
This role underscores the company’s commitment to growth of its luxury brand portfolio.
Marriott’s luxury brands include The Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, EDITION, The Luxury Collection, JW Marriott and W Hotels Worldwide.

The company has also made several other senior personnel changes in multiple departments across the region.
With over 530 operating hotels across 22 countries and territories, the Asia Pacific region is a major growth engine for Marriott.
