Mathew Prior to head merged TUI ski division
Mathew Prior has been named managing director of the newly formed TUI Travel Mountain Activity Group.
Stuart McLeod, who previously headed the Thomson specialist businesses including ski, has left the company.
Prior will have responsibility for Crystal Ski, Thomson Ski and First Choice Ski, together with specialist operator FlexiSki.
Hotels operated under the Paladian and Luxury Mountain Hotels groups will also report into him.
Prior joined First Choice Holidays in 2001 and has managed a range of activity holidays businesses including Sunsail Clubs, Le Boat, Europe’s leading operator of self-drive boating holidays; and Trek America.
“The recent merger of First Choice Holidays PLC and TUI Tourism has created the opportunity to bring together some of the best brands in the UK ski market to form the leading collection of winter sports operators in the country,” a statement said.
Prior said: “This group will form the UK’s leading collection of ski businesses and is well placed to play a significant role in the development of the UK ski market.”
