Meeting-goers biggest gripe: airlines

Friday, 27 Mar, 2007 0

What’s the biggest complaint of meeting-goers today? In all likelihood: the airlines.

A MiMegasite.com poll found 75% of planners said meeting attendees were dissatisfied with their flying experiences in the past year. Said the site:

“With a string of foul-weather events taking place this winter  —  coupled with some bad decisions by airlines to delay planes on the tarmac for as many as ten hours, leaving passengers as virtual hostages  —  the issue of uncomfortable and even unsanitary conditions, irate passengers, and potential lawsuits for compensation have been in the news since December. “

Airlines such as American and JetBlue have promised to change their rules regarding how long a plane can sit on the tarmac before returning to the gate, but passengers nonetheless have been more unhappy with their flying experiences than in any time since right after Sept. 11, 2001.

That was when security rules were at their strictest.
