Meeting planners pushing international trips
US meeting planners will be taking 23% of their groups to international destinations this year, a 1% increase over the previous year.
Those numbers came MPT’s Future Watch, said Betsy Bair, editorial director, The Meetings Group, Primedia Business & Media.
Ms Bair was among participants in a recent series of meetings in the US sponsored by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association in partnership with the Association Management Group.
In general, there’s an increase in the number of overall meetings so far in 2005, said Hotelmarketing.com.
In a recent poll, 90% of meeting planners said they would have a growing number of meetings this year.
