Megabus offers extra seats to rescue Boardmasters festivalgoers

Thursday, 07 Aug, 2019 0

Bus company Megabus has made extra seats available on its service from Newquay to London for passengers affected by the late cancellation of the Boardmasters festival in Watergate Bay, which was due to kick off on Friday.

Organisers cancelled the festival late last night due to a severe weather warning issued by the Met Office. They said it was no longer safe for the festival, due to take place on a cliff overlooking Watergate Bay, to go ahead.

However, many festival-goers had already started to arrive in Newquay for the event, which was to be headlined by Wu-Tang Clan, Florence + The Machine and Foals.

Megabus said passengers could go online and amend their return tickets for travel to London. Last night’s service from London to Newquay stopped in Bristol and passengers heading to the event were given the option to return to London.
